Experiments Procedures

The Spokesperson, responsible of each experiment (or test) performed at the LNS must:

  1. Give the Radioprotection Service, at least 15 days before the start of each experiment, the declaration for radioprotection and safety of the experiment, containing the list of participants and the indication, for each worker, of Institution to which belong.

  2. Verify that all participants not belonging to LNS staff have performed authorization procedures for access at LNS.

  3. Take care to get from radioprotection service the personal dosimeters and access cards to the experimental rooms and give back them at the end of the experiment.

  4. Arrange that the participants know and observe the radiation protection internal rules or any other safety procedures inherent to the experiment and correctly use the personal dosimeters or any assigned protection devices.

  5. Ensure the execution of the patrol in the experimental room during the measurement.

 

For workers belonging to the LNS staff carrying out missions with ionizing radiation risk at an external laboratory where the use of dosimeters supplied is required, the experiment Spokesperson must present the appropriate form.

For workers belonging to the LNS staff carrying out missions in classified areas and/or other activities with ionizing radiation risk, the specific agreement with the host institute must be filled and provided.
